Lets get right to the point! Stretch marks are skin scars!
This is how our skin layers are structured, immediately under our outer skin layer is a layer called the "dermis". The dermis contains collagen and elastin fibres. Collagen is responsible for our skins elasticity. When our skin undergoes rapid growth, either growing up or growing out this layer is put under a lot of stress and the collagen fibres can break forming scars that we refer to as "Stretch Marks".
At some point in our lives we will all be suseptible to stretch mark scaring because we all experience growth spurts at some stage.
When stretch marks first appear they may show up as fine red through to thick purplish red lines in the affected area. Eventually, just like any scar they will fade over time and become a soft whitish line.
The question is "What can we do to prevent or reduce the severity of these stretch marks"?
Obviously keeping our skin well hydrated will help support the collegen fibres during these periods of rapid growth, so drinking plenty of water is of assistance. Also the use of hydrating cremes can also help. One of the best products I have found is a hydrating creme called Stretta. This creme is specifically designed to tackle the problem of stretch marks and the great part is that it contains all natural ingredience with the 2 main active ingredience being, glycolic acid and centilica asiatica.
With it's powerful glycolic acid, Stretta is able to penetrate deeply into stretch-marked skin where centilica asiatica restores collagen and connective tissues, leaving your skin clear and mark-free. The power of Zenmed's Stretta is it's balance of eastern wisdom and western technology, combining in the depths of your skin to perfect, renew, and give you a new confidence about your skin.
